Pursuant to decision No. 47 of 2005, the Qatari Ministry of Economy & Commerce increased the trademark official fees effective June 26, 2005. Accordingly, the said fees have changed dramatically. For example, Registration fees of a mark application in one class have increased from $75 to $550, while fees for Registration fees of a collective mark from $120 to $1375, and fees for Recording the license to use a mark from $110 to $1375. It is worth noting that the ministry is currently undertaking major steps to upgrade the services it provides, and to improve the capabilities of its staff in order to keep up with the international standards and specifications.
