Requirements

Patent, Utility Model and Design Applications

-   Specification, claims, abstract and drawings (for Design the drawings and the statement as to the type) brief explanation.

-   Power of Attorney**(same as above)

-   Assignment if necessary

-   Full name, domicile and address of applicant and inventor

-   Priority data, if so

1.- Required documentation:

  Petition (which we will prepare for each registration, signed by us)

  Special Power of Attorney, which we will provide for each case, signed by the petitioner or the legal representative of the company (if applicable) and consularized.

  Letter issued by the Country/State authorities certifying that the company (if applicable) is incorporated and existing under the laws of such Country/State.

  Letter issued by any foreign bureau in charge of registering inventions certifying that the invention has been filed if priority is to be claimed. 

  Official or legal documents coming from abroad have to be consularized at the nearest Costa Rican Consulate or Embassy.

2.- Other information and requirements:

  Full description of the invention, designs and all other document or information that might be needed to understand and evaluate the invention.

  Five graphic representations of the invention.
