Requirements

Required documents:

1.      The full name, address and nationality of the applicant; or, if the applicant is a company, the full name and official title of its representative and the company's domicile.

2.      Title or name of the design.

3.      A full description (clear and complete) of the model.

4.      Formal drawings or photographs (three copies) of the industrial model, .

5.      The assignment of rights contract or a copy of the employment contract between the inventors of the industrial model and the company.

6.      An executed Power of Attorney signed by the applicant or the representative of the applicant in our favor. Please notice that this POA must be legalized up to an Ecuadorian consulate.

7.      A copy of the Priority Certificate (when filing a priority design application). Please provide us with the filling date and the application number as well as the country of origin.

8.      A description of the industrial model that allows the understanding of the technical problem and of the solution provided by the industrial model including differences and possible advantages compared to the previous technology;

9.      Summary consisting of a synthesis of the technical information contained in the industrial model application.

Ecuador has adopted the single class filing system, and the use is not necessary to file an application.

In order to proceed with a renewal application, we require:

1. Power-of-attorney duly notarized.
2. Name of the mark.
3. Original registration number.
4. Owner's name.
