The new law defines the utility models as any shape, configuration of any element, device, mechanism or other object or a part of the same, that permits a better or a different performance, use or manufacturing of the object that includes the utility model or that provides any use, advantage or technical effect it did not have before. The utility models are known as the "little inventions" because they improve and innovate in such a reduced way the tools, instruments, devices or mechanisms already existent, with the purpose of giving them a better use or a better utility.

b) Industrial Application.

The protection term is ten years counted from the filing date.
